Objectives
Understand the common mechanisms of injury, including blunt trauma (e.g., motor vehicle collisions, falls) and penetrating trauma (e.g., gunshot or stab wounds).
Learn the key components of a systematic assessment, including physical examination, imaging, and diagnostic tools, to determine the severity and nature of the injury.
Explore both immediate life-saving interventions (e.g., needle decompression, chest tube insertion) and long-term management strategies for thoracic injuries.
